Hi, just saw your post on the QOTSA forum about how to record them in Vienna... What you need is a recorder, obviously, and microphones that'll be able to take the very high sound pressure of rock music. Usually, inbuilt mics will end up saturated and distorted in the ugliest way. You'll have to decide whether you want to go for cardioid or binaural mics, but if you go for binaural, I'd suggest these : http://www.geocities.com/greenmachine_audio/de-over.html
which offer very high quality for their price. (Of course you'll get more audience noise than with cards, but the drums will sound so much better too..)

Also, the peeps at forums.minidisc.org and at the trader's den have lots of enlightened advice to share !

Good recording.. and don't forget to enjoy the concert, k ?

well, thank you for the info, one question:
when a use a cheap MiniDisc Player will be the quality the same like i would buy the expensive one?

No problemo :)

What you're mainly interested in with a mcd player is the quality of the preamp and of the mic-in/line-in you'll plug your mics in, right? And I'd say that as far as I know, the quality of these will vary pretty much in function of the price. Don't know what your budget exactly is, but if you plan to do a lot of taping, or to do it for a long time, the mz rh 1 by sony is surely a worthy investment (and both the line-in and the mic-in are of excellent quality.)

Again, I'd suggest you ask for advice on a taping forum, where you'll be able to collate lots of advice from many users :)
